Things You Should Know

Chiropractic Care Superior to Medical Care for Back-related Injuries!

A number of workers' compensation studies in the U.S., Australia, and Canada have shown chiropractic care to be superior to medical care in the treatment of on the job back injuries. Chiropractors have been able to get their patients out of pain and back to work faster and with lower treatment costs. Also, in those patients who received chiropractic care there was a significantly lower incidence of progression to a chronic low back pain status.

Whether your on the job sprains, strains in the shoulder, neck, lower back, legs, or arms hurt a lot or a little; our course of Chiropractic care provide effective relief without hospitalization, surgery, or medication. We enable the body's inherent ability to heal and the relationship between the spinal column, nervous system and the rest of the body to restore and maintain good health.

Did you know that Neck and Back Injuries account for more than 90% of the injuries occurring at work?

Who better to see for these specific types of injuries than a Chiropractor? Work Injuries result in injury to a worker, both physically and financially. Everyone gains when an injured worker is safely back on the job.

If you need time off work, we can communicate with your employer, so he knows your intention is to return to work as soon as you can safely do your job. Our primary responsibility is to provide the care that helps your body heal itself. We will also submit the required medical reports to your lawyer and insurance company so your rights are protected.

Other Work Injuries

Other common work injuries include: carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back pain, headaches, and neck pain and shoulder pain. Many of these injuries are caused by repetitive stress (doing the same thing over and over again). These are work injuries even if work activity is only partially responsible.

New Work Injuries

If you are injured while working, you must first appropriately report to your employer. This action must be taken as soon as possible after the injury.

Old Injuries

If you have an old injury which has not responded to previous treatments or you have become dissatisfied with the care you have received, contact our office today. We are expert in the treatment of joint, muscular and spinal worker's compensation injuries. In addition to chiropractic care, we utilize various effective therapies and offer rehabilitation on site.

A visit to the Chiropractor isn't just about spinal adjustments anymore.

There have been incredible advancements, which gives you the advantage. Chiropractors not only work with the spine, but also adjust the joints of the extremities, the cranium, the viscera and soft tissues depending on the needs of the patient. Chiropractic does not rely on drugs or surgery in the healing process. Instead, Chiropractic safely and gently stimulates your body's natural ability to heal itself from the inside out.

About Injuries

Acceleration/deceleration injuries to the spinal column and neck are most common, but not the only injury. Sprains and strains are referred to as soft tissue injuries including muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Although, soft tissue injuries, for the most part are invisible on x-rays and often overlooked; they can cause severe debilitating pain after an injury or accident. Left without proper treatment the injured muscles and other soft tissues can end up causing chronic pain for months...even years.

Injured muscles heal with scar tissue in a way that leaves them weaker, less elastic, and prone to re-injury and pain. Active and passive therapies administered by your chiropractic physician help to restore muscular strength, flexibility, and normal function by correcting or "aligning" the scar tissue. This will allow the soft tissue to heal healthier with less chance of future pain and dysfunction.

Pain is a Warning

Pain is an indicator that a problem exists within our body. Even soreness can indicate injuries of consequence. Without pain, our bodies could not tell us that there is an injury and that something is wrong. Most minor to moderate injuries are overlooked by the patient, the hospital, and even the patient's family medical provider due to the lack of initial significant pain. Several months after the injury, when the patient continues to have pain or it worsens, most people begin to realize that the injury they sustained is worse than they imagined.

Documentation

We provide complete and thorough documentation necessary for injuries sustained - even small tissue injuries that often go unnoticed until months or even years later.

If you have an attorney, we will work closely with the firm. If you need a referral to an attorney, our office can provide a list of reputable personal injury attorneys that our office has worked with in the past.

Again - It is important to receive immediate exam and appropriate treatment.

Injury or sprain/strain may seem mild at first. But, you need to take care of it before it puts you out of work and causes more pain and medical costs.
